Who is MIAC?
We are mothers like you!
Tawnie Johnson (Director/Secretary) lives in Humboldt with her husband, son and dog. She is currently going to school for her CPA and enjoys writing in her spare time. Tawnie is passionate about birth rights since her home birth. As a survivor of sexual assault she has a deep empathy and wish for all women to enjoy a safe, empowering birth of their choice, like she had.
Hallie Motier (Director/Chair) lives south of Kindersley Saskatchewan with her husband and 2 sons. Hallie is interested in holistic nutrition and is a birth doula. Informing and supporting women in their birth choices has become a passion of Hallie’s. Since the births of her own sons, she realized just how limited our birthing options are, especially in rural Saskatchewan.
Kate Althouse (Director) lives on a farm in East-Central Saskatchewan and has been active in the birth community for 7 years. Her focus is on the rights of childbearing women as seen in her work with support groups and blogging
Rachel Mosier (Treasurer) lives in a small community outside of Lloydminster, Saskatchewan. While having children she realized how limited education, resources and options are surrounding birth. She is currently taking her doula certification training and hopes that through passion and activism women will one day join together and take back birth.
